Privacy & Policies

This is not medical help.

Any information provided on the site is not intended as medical advice or therapy of any kind.

Sharing a story on this site does not mean we endorse or agree with the statements made in the story. We cannot verify the statements or information provided by service users. These stories are shared as personal experiences. They’re similar to restaurant reviews. Your experience may be completely different.

Inclusion & Exclusion

We focus on sharing stories of how people access mental health services within their city or cities. We may not post content that we feel is outside of the focus of our project or that reinforces or promotes harassment, racism, sexism, or prejudice of any kind.

It’s important that this site is a safe place where people can discuss sensitive issues and seek information without fear of judgment or harassment. We will remove any harassing comments. Harassment includes comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Only submit information through this site that you would feel comfortable having other people read or having shared publicly.

We track the number of people visiting the site, pages visited, referral sites, time on the site, and search terms used to find the site. We only track IP addresses if you leave a comment. Additional data on people’s experiences navigating mental healthcare systems, such as locations, wait-list times, or other specifics not covered in their story, is collected directly from individuals, with their permission, after they submit their story to our project, if they provide an email address at that time for follow-up.
